The day after the hike to Berg Lake turned out to be misty and rainy and the mountains were shrouded in a thick cover of cloud. It would rain intermittently. So after a day of recuperation from the previous days hike I made my way towards Jasper. I planned to ride as far as the weather would hold out and as the day wore on, i could sense that the rain would come down harder and not stop. Fortunately for me, there was Lucerne campground on the way and I stopped there at 4 pm. Around 5 pm, the skipes opened a bit and the sun came out, allowing me to air and dry my tent and sleeping bag. I got glorious views of the lake and the Yellowhead mountains and enjoyed the short trail walk along the lake in the late evening. As the sun dipped, the temperatures also did, reminding me that I was now in the midst of the Rockies and winter was settign in really quickly.
