Decided to take a train from Smithers to McBride, because of a host of factors. An early winter was approaching fast, and I wanted to spend considerable time exploring the Rockies, and the week ahead, forecasted to be innundated with heavy rain. The ride on VIA rail was really good and comfortable though the night stay at the Prince George hostel was very uncomfortable. It was cramped and not really that clean.
It felt great to arrive at McBride and start riding again. Stayed at the Beaverview RV Park and Campground outside McBride. I got a site close to the showers and the laundry and was able to pitch my tent under a fir tree as it was raining all day and there was rain expected at night as well.
The cafe at the McBride station was also very nice.
Campsite : 15 CAD, free and good wifi, free showers, no firewood as it was raining.
