The ride from Lake Louise to Banff was really memorable. Taka and I met at the cafe shop in the town and decided to ride together though I had to set off earlier as he was held up. I took the Banff parkway which is restricted access to vehicles, has lovely views and is devoid of traffic! Scenic mountains flanked the road and the Banff national reserve was really picturesque. The road runs along the railway tracks for a while and we managed some really scenic shots of the train chugging past some glorious landscapes. Enroute, we stopped at a cafe below the Castle Mountain and enjoyed the break tremendously. The fact that it was mainly downhill really helped and we did not have to climb much.
We reached Banff at 4 pm after stopping numerous times to take pictures of breathtaking scenery. After a quick meal at Subway , Taka and I parted waysas he had to meet a friend. I went ahead and checked into the Banff International Hostel and I stayed put here for 4 days. Great hostel, very clean, organised and has some excellent wifi and workstations with desktops where I was able to sit for hours and update my blogs.
